History has come alive for my students. I teach fifth grade students in Brooklyn, NY. My students come from three continents and speak over 10 different languages at home. Amidst all of this diversity, we have found a common ground: learning American History. We spend the day together studying all the subjects, but it is in the Social Studies lessons that my students come alive.
