I provide instructional support in the areas of math and language arts to kindergarten to second grade students with special needs. The students are eligible for special education services under Specific Learning Disability, Autism, and Other Health Impairment (ADHD diagnosis). Many of my students ride the bus from an area where crime rates and poverty rates are high. Despite where they come from, my students are positive about their future. They want to be doctors, teachers, cops and firemen. Our school encourages the students to begin thinking about their future now. We have a strong partnership with the community including nearby universities and large corporations. We provide ample opportunities to show the students what they can have in the future if they work and study hard.
