I teach first grade in a Title 1 school. If you were to join my class during reading time you would see a group of enthusiastic learners who delight in their emerging reading abilities. They also love being read to. The parents are so happy with the success that their child is having and are thrilled that they love school. But many of them readily admit that with work and busy schedules it's hard to find the time to read to their child. I to would love to read to them more. I can't put more time in the day for group read aloud but I can ask for your help in purchasing a listening center for them.
