Our school has a diverse population of over 650 students. We are located near SeaTac Airport and a newcomer center for immigrants. Several of our families are new to the United States and are working hard to begin new lives for themselves and their children. An important part of that, is having books available to them. Nearly 85% of our students qualify for free or reduced meals which means many of our students don't have access to books at home. In addition, nearly 40% of our students are English Language Learners, making reading an even more important component on their path to literacy. Many studies have shown that reading is the number one, most important, thing you can do to be successful in school and work.

About my class
