The math manipulatives requested in this project will replace some of the need for paper worksheets in the classroom allowing my students to use more exciting materials for their learning. I'm requestingone Building Fractions Activity Center, Student Write & Wipe Number Lines, boards and markers, and dominoes. These materials will be used in learning stations, which also promote peer talk. When learning is fun, students enjoy it much more and are more eager to practice the skills they need to be successful, not only in the classroom, but also the real world. It is important that they carry the skills they learn into the world so that they continue their success outside of the classroom. Often times fractions are tricky for students to grasp and the fraction strips will help reinforce the concept. The Write & Wipe boards help with multiplication and arrays, and the markers are for use of the boards and fraction strips. There are so many games that the students can play using dominoes that I am extremely excited to begin using them in the classroom.
