If you’ve ever had to sit in a hard plastic chair for any length of time, you can sympathize with my students. Classrooms are furnished the way they have been for 70 years even though most adults do not work this way anymore. The requested floor table, wobble chairs, activity table and standing desks will allow my students to choose a work station where they are most comfortable, thereby maximizing their learning. Furthermore, this furniture will allow the students to work collaboratively as they investigate real-world problems and develop solutions. In a flexible environment, students are more willing to take risks and investigate innovative possibilities. It will also provide wiggly 10-11 year old the space to move while exercising their brains. The fun colors will also help create a bright, inviting classroom.
