I am a special education teacher, and currently teach in a self-contained classroom with 7th and 8th grade middle school students who have moderate intellectual disabilities. I typically have 9-11 students who range in ability from kindergarten to third grade level. Many of these kids also have physical and communication limitations and require additional support. I provide instruction in reading, writing, math, and life skills. There are also two instructional assistants who help students with academic and personal needs. My focus is on positive teaching and my goal is to provide my students with the best opportunities to become successful in school and in life.

About my class
