My students come from low social economic, high poverty homes. Many of my students do not have computers at home. The mini iPads would help them learn to read while also teaching them how to use technology in a fun and meaningful way. Their reading skills and vocabulary skills are very poor, many of them have learning disabilities that make reading a difficult task. I would like them to be exposed to fun literacy apps to help them improve their reading fluency and comprehension, while learning to use technology that will prepare them for the world around them.
