In our classroom, we have one computer and two iPads. With twenty students, this just does not provide enough opportunities for each child to have the proper access to technology in my classroom. My students love when I put the iPad's in a guided math group, but they are always sharing with at least one partner. By getting a new iPad, I would be giving more of my students an opportunity to access technology in my classroom. I use Guided Math centers each day and that means that I could incorporate a technology center five days a week. Students use the iPad to solve word problems, to practice math fluency, and also to play games that are interactive and teach place value, comparing, and geometry. My students already appreciate having the two iPad's that I provided for them and I know they will be so excited if we can get even just one more. Since my students do not have access to this technology at home it is even more important that they have more chances to access it in school.
