Our middle school students have the amazing opportunity to engage with the arts and humanities through our school's Arts Academy. Students are able to practice their talents in drama, visual art, and music while drawing connections to the core content areas. Unfortunately, many of our students are reading below grade level and struggle to apply the standards they need to master in order to move on to the next grade level. A new photography class will serve as an engaging method of remediation and enrichment for students to practice, apply, and understand the literacy standards. They will grow as readers, media analysts, and global citizens as they unpack the visual world around them.
