I teach fourth grade in an urban school setting. Many of my students face challenges in school and at home. Many of my students have diagnosed medical issues that stem from ADHD, emotional disturbance, homelessness, bi-polar disorder, to having a learning disability. Most of my students come from a home in poverty and many of my students don't live with or know their biological parents. These students amaze me each and every day. They face adversity at home, but come to school willing to learn and engage each and every day. This comes with some challenges that I have to overcome, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of all of my students. The school I teach in is a K-5 elementary school where we focus on providing positive and rewarding experiences for our students. We want to build each student's self-esteem and prepare them for their future.
