My school is located in a very rural section of Eastern North Carolina. We are a Title 1 High School with approximately 80% of students at our school receiving free/reduced lunch. Students in my classroom are students with the most severe disability who are working on an adapted curriculum and focusing on the goals and objectives that are in their Individualized Education Plans (IEP) that will lead them to a certificate of attendance upon their completion of high school. All of these students in my classroom have multiple global delays which can include physical, mental, communication, and many other delays and impairments.
