I teach a multiple-handicap classroom in rural northwest Ohio. I have a total of seven students, five being nonverbal and four being on the autism spectrum. My daily schedule varies from day to day. On Mondays and Thursdays, the students have speech therapy, Tuesdays cooking class, and Wednesdays occupational therapy. My students go out at different times of the day for their music, gym, and art classes. Daily: 9:00 Morning Meeting, 10:40-11:10 Group Math, 1:00-1:30 Group Reading, 1:30-2:15 Independent work/centers. Our therapies and specials are in between these times, when students are out for specials and we are not doing a group lesson, we work on IEP goals. Our school is a small school that averages about 70 students per grade level.
