My students are highly motivated and are always asking questions. They are 4th and 5th graders in an accelerated program. We do a lot of problem solving Math problems that require students to work in groups of 4's. One of the requirements is for the group to relate math concepts into real life situations. Since there are 8 groups and only 4 computers, getting additional 4 laptops would be ideal. In my science classes, students are asked to research topics that we are studying through sci-links and relate their investigations to events that are currently taking place in the world. Application in Math and Science is crucial to what they are reading in their textbooks. My school has about 64% of students on free or reduced lunch. Most of them don't have Internet connection at home, therefore, research and other Math and Science projects are done in class.
