The majority of my students come from families that are below poverty level and struggle with everyday necessities. Our school works to provide access to the 21 century tools and educational practice through a one-to-one device program. This program is funded by a generous grant. Even with this funding, we struggle to provide our students will all necessary materials especially with the transition to Common Core State Standards. Students are eager and willing to experience things and concepts that their families are unable to provide. They are creative and innovative. They are teachable and represent a multitude of culture and racial backgrounds. Our school is working to capitalize on this attitude through providing many clubs and extracurricular experience that will grow our students.
