We are a classroom of 100% bilingual scholars in a Title One STEM Magnet School that encourages self-awareness and mindfulness. We focus on channeling our energy in positive and productive manners. Our school has begun a "mindfulness" initiative that includes practicing meditation, breathing exercises, and yoga/balancing. Despite the odds of being in a 100% free and reduced price lunch environment, my students show incredible enthusiasm toward exploration and academic success. Our school focuses on attention to the present moment in order to further engage the students both academically and developmentally.
