My students are 9th -12th graders who are still excited to learn and explore new areas in all their classes. They come from the inner city, low income families, facing many challenges in their neighborhoods and homes. Some of the students commute to school by car, or by public transportation. Many walk to school with schoolmates and family members. These students are very talented and eager to broaden their knowledge of music and the arts. They come ready to learn and grow to a college and career level of performance. The available and limited school resources are used fully and incorporated into their daily classroom instruction and after school activities. They desire to learn more and to develop their skills to a level that can compete and soar in the 21st century.
