This beautiful new carpet will send a message that all are welcome at our community carpet. It will help my students to sit more comfortably and give them each a designated spot. This will allow us to get to the learning and instruction quicker, reducing transition time and distractions. Personal space is important for students to recognize and with a designated spot, students will be more focused and more confident learners. There is also a ton of vocabulary work I plan to incorporate as students are invited to their spots. For example, "row" and "column", colors, finding patterns, direction words. This bright and inviting carpets feature big, bold, extra-roomy squares that give each child their very own space to sit and play! Plus, the color-coded rows make it incredibly easy to divide the class into small groups.
