We are a charter school in a low income area. The majority of our students come from low income families. We currently have an overhead in our classroom but I think the students would really enjoy the high level of student engagement that a classroom projector has to offer. It would be more exciting for them to interact with lessons that the technology of a projector could provide. It would increase student engagement and promote critical thinking skills and problem solving skills in students. I think it would do this because the lessons would be presented to them (through the use of the projector) in a more interesting format with more visual cues (to make the content more interesting to the students).
