My greatest challenge “EVER” within my teaching career is making sure my students with special needs have the equipment needed to be successful during distance learning due to COVID-19 Pandemic. The district supplied students with Chromebooks; however, my students who receive math services rely on the use of calculators to help them complete parts of the 8th-grade math content. They were not supplied with calculators. It is important that they use an accustomed calculator to keep the learning momentum. I have searched the web with no luck. Learning the concepts of real numbers, expressions and equations, functions, geometry, and statistics are more manageable when the calculation piece is removed. The students can concentrate on the "how and why" of the math rather than on the calculation. Also, when we do return to the classroom, my students will continue to appreciate the benefits of their new calculators.
