Many students in my school face many socioeconomic challenges including: over 75% of students receive free and reduced lunch, many single parent families, and many students do not have at home access to technology or the Internet. With limited access at home, students love the opportunity to use technology in the classroom. We have a very diverse school, and as a pioneer for the STEAM program in my county, I will be setting up an entirely new space for students to explore and engineer. This year I will have all grade levels pass through my classroom, including a wide range of learning abilities. This will provide its challenges, as well as opportunities for my students with different learning styles.
