I am asking for donations to make flexible seating come to life in my classroom. 7-8 year olds love to learn, but they still have energy to get out and flexible seating can help with that. I am asking for stability stools, balancing pods, lap trays, and wobble chairs so my students can wiggle out their extra energy without distracting from their learning. Students will have the chance with various seats to see what helps them learn best and focus on their needs by reading their bodies to see what works for each individual student. Teachers that have used flexible seating have seen a benefit in physical, emotional, and academic benefits. Students get to choose what best fits for their learning. It builds community by sharing supplies and taking turns. There is movement and builds on core strength. They feel comfortable which helps them focus more and be relaxed in their learning. The seating also provides sensory input and motivates students to work hard to keep their spots. This makes learning more comfortable and engaging.
