A typical day in the orchestra room is loud and fun. It is full of sixth graders, who have just started learning their instrument, seventh graders, who are really getting the hang of things, and eighth graders, who are working on mastering their art. My students are very eager to learn. I've never felt such energy inside of a classroom! They are constantly asking me questions about the music or about their instrument. It is a Title I school and a lot of my kids cannot afford instruments. Luckily, we have a good bit of school-owned instruments that they can use. They're not in the best condition, but they get the job done. However, a lot of the bows and strings that we're using are in awful condition.
