Tablets are a necessity with this generation of students. These tablets will assist my students in gaining hands on experience with the language that they are learning. These tables will assist in instruction that will prepare students to become bilingual and biliterate and promote high academic achievement in two languages. Students will be able to hear fluent native speakers to understand how to correctly say and spell words that are not native to them. These program will assist in building knowledge in sentence structure, vocabulary, sight words, and much more. Hearing familiar words is very effective in bridging a child’s developing understanding of content in English and Spanish when learning the non-dominant language . As the diversity of languages grows, Spanish and English speaking families are increasingly requesting more bilingual programs so that their children will be competitive in a global economy. We as teachers are faced with growing burden to find culturally and linguistically appropriate resources and activities to help support dual languages. Technology can open up a world of resources for early childhood programs and families. These tablets would be a great asset to my students learning.
