“I touch the future. I teach.” - Christa McAuliffe I get to touch our future every day, so when I learn about new practices that will benefit kids, I wholeheartedly jump in. I have chosen a variety of different seating options for the students in my class. There will be wobble chairs for kids who like to move, cuddle chairs for kids who need more support, balance balls for kids who need help focusing, wobble cushions for kids who like to sit on the floor, and stools for kids who prefer those. There are many reasons to make this switch; but these are most important to me: - to increase student engagement - to help make learning fun - to support different learning styles - to promote physical health; children need to move! - to encourage students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive
