Most of the students that I serve have weak phonetic skills. They are unsure of letter/vowel sounds, blends, digraphs, syllables, and chunking of these parts. I will use the resources that I have listed to help them in learning the letters and sounds in multisensory ways. Using the sand and trays will help them feel the formation of the letter as they say the letter's sound or as they spell a blend and form that sound. Whisper phones are excellent for early readers who need to hear their words being said aloud, yet they don't disturb others beside them. I will use the green folders for words we find that can be spelled phonetically while "red" words are those that cannot. Those we call sight words. The magnetic white boards will serve multiple purposes: practice of printing the letters, using the magnetic letters to form words, quick writing of answers to questions, along with many other possibilities.
