As a third-grade teacher, I have twenty-three 8 and 9 year old students in my class. Nineteen out of the 23 are English Language Learners (ELL students). My students' families come from Africa, India, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. Many of my students come from low-socioeconomic backgrounds. The school I teach in is 100% free breakfast and lunch. We also have a food pantry to provide meals for the students over the weekend. My students are hard working and very curious. They are interested in the world around them. Because of this, they are adept at navigating the web and enjoy using the computers for researching that world.
