We will be using this listening station for many different activities in the classroom. The first is singing and dancing! One thing that I have found helps my students to remember math facts, sight words, how to spell or even just something like seasons of the year are songs. We will use this listening station as a way to play songs for the class to learn to enhance their math and language skills as well as their motor skills and cognitive development. Secondly, we will be using this station to allow students to put their hands on books while listening to fluent readers read books that the students may not be able to read themselves. This will be used for part of our listen to reading which is included in our Daily 5 predictable structures. My students LOVE sitting with a book in their lap while listening to me read. They will be able to put in the CD that goes with the book and read along!
