The HD digital camcorder will allow for students to watch high definition videos of their performances so that they can self assess or see for themselves the feedback others have given them. It will also allow for high quality recordings of performances that students can use in a video portfolio for competitions as well as college and scholarship applications. In particular, students can use the camera in the Independent Evaluation for Michigan Thespian Festival. The HD digital camcorder will be a tool for students to create student films. Students will write a script, rehearse, direct, and perform in front of the camera. Students will learn film acting techniques (which are much different from stage acting) and the power of cinematography in storytelling.
