My students are interested, they ask questions, they want to know about everything. They come from economically disadvantaged circumstances, but that doesn't stop their love of learning, and any way that I can work with the community to engage them further in the classroom environment only strengthens the impact of a positive classroom connection. The main building was built in the 1930's, so some of the classrooms are huge to these small people. There have been improvements to the classrooms, however the technology is the last thing to be updated. Many of our students lack access to technology at home, making a true 21st century classroom environment difficult. Projects posted for the classroom put the needs of the students as the first priority, and focus on meaningful connections.
