The materials I am requesting are a knitting loom and four skeins of yarn for each student. We will meet as a group in the morning two days a week to work on our blankets. The blankets should take about five weeks to complete, which would be right around the holidays. The completed blankets will be displayed at the school for a few days and then as a group we will walk to the senior home and meet with the residents and share our gifts. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of the joy of giving back to their community. Students will have the opportunity to learn from each other and realize that to have a strong community we must remember everyone. I am hoping the students can build connections to the seniors and work on other projects for them and with them.
