My students are 2/3 general education and 1/3 special needs. Students are taught in a wide variety of styles by a general education teacher and a special education teacher. Students work collaboratively to share strengths and experiences. I often "recruit" my general education students to work one on one with a special needs child. This model helps both children grasp concepts since explaining a topic to a peer helps the general education student reach deeper levels of understanding.
