In the past, when there was more funds available, each child was given a binder with supplies to enhance their writing to help them prepare for the State test. I have used and reused the binders we had. I only have about 15 that are in O.K. shape and I have 60 students. With these binders, pens, and other supplies, this will not only impact the students I have now, but future writers that come into my classroom. I want them to feel that everything they write in their binder is theirs, and I want them to take ownership of it, because that will help them become the author's that are in them that are waiting to come out to meet the world.
