How quiet the forest would be if only the best birds sang. - Author Unknown. This is our theme! Our differently-abled students are all learning, just in extraordinary ways. We have students with Autism, Down Syndrome, and other special abilities. Our school climate celebrates the differences in all of us. If you entered my classroom, you would see students learning at their own pace and teachers using whatever means necessary to help every student reach their potential. We try to incorporate as much hands-on learning throughout the day as possible. We are not a "sit-n-get" kind of classroom. We are moving, singing, dancing, and learning. We have students who were nonverbal a year ago reading now! Some said it could not be done, but we did it! And we are only just beginning!
