We will be reading The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and creating literary food trucks as a culminating project. Students will work in teams, create business plans, and advertise all aspects of their novel-based food truck. Standards in both English and civics will be used as student make real-world connections to small business ownership as well as connections to their novel. They will then participate in a food truck festival and vote for their top three food trucks. Prizes will be awarded based upon student votes, and an after-school movie viewing will take place!
