My students are Champions. We have an even mix of girls and boys. We have a great school in a low socioeconomic area. The students are eager to learn, but some face multiple challenges in order to do so, such as, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Language Impairments, etc. Therefore, we need activities to keep them engaged and busy learning. Kindergarten is full of little minds ready to soak up knowledge, it is a challenge sometimes to present it in a way that they all can learn. We have many different learning styles in the classroom; therefore, the more ways we can support the curriculum, the greater chance we have of meeting the needs of all the students. I like to bring in STEM activities for the Science Units, so that the students can connect the lesson to the real world. This can be difficult for Kindergarten students, as they are very abstract thinkers. They love hands on "PLAY"; they think it's fun and have no clue that they are learning.
