Students will try their hand at coding using the LEGO WeDo 2.0 robots. They will be asked to program the robots using a sting of commands to move through obstacle courses their team creates. The students will then navigate their robot through the maze studying friction, speed, and angles. They will practice literacy skills while exploring a variety of topics through our steam library and complete weekly tasks that range from engineering bridges, studying the impacts of weather systems, to energy in motion. Requested titles include Gingerbread Christmas, I Wanna New Room, A Wish to Be a Christmas Tree, Where the Wild Things Are, Snowballs, If I Were President, Day It Rained Hearts, Animals in Winter, Compost Stew, and Groundhog Day! This project will allow my students to get their hands on 21st-century gadgets that will make their school experience memorable by making real world connections!
