My classroom is made up of ten AMAZING students! They each have special needs. I teach life-skills classes for 6th-12th grade. In our class, we focus on independence, social skills, and academics. In our society, technology is a must to be independent and survive in a technological world. My students are very unique, more than half have significant communication disorders. The simple request of a drink of water or to go to the restroom can quickly become frustrating for a non-verbal child. The IPAD minis would allow the student to request simple needs that we often take for granted daily.
