The students are a family. We take care of each other and we strive for excellence in everything we do. We are located in a large suburb outside of Dallas. We have a very diverse population of students. The majority of our students are classified as economically disadvantaged. Lee lions are hard working and diligent artists who possess ambition and vision. The students are not afraid to take on challenges and succeed. Many of them understand their current environment and economic situation. This propels them to explore opportunities that will help them discover their uniqueness. Music affords them the opportunity to cultivate hard and soft skills necessary to compete in this world. Many of them do not see musicianship soft skills such as teamwork, respect, responsibility and constructive criticism modeled at home. When they step into the classroom environment they understand they are not being judged but are free to be, explore and create.
