My school is home to a regional program specifically for kids with Autism. We have an Autism I and II program, where the students are placed based on their age. Between the two classes, we have 10 students total. Each child is an individual and brings their own fun and quirkiness to the school! We are a loud but fun group! The students in the Autism program range from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, and each child has very different and individualized needs. The students are able to communicate those needs through the use of PECS, which are presented on a laminated, Velcro-backed sheet.
