This iPad Air will help our classroom in several ways: First, students will use it for word work, phonics, spelling, and ABC work. Second, students will be able to use audio and video, take photographs and screenshots, and explore online interactive writing tools. This will greatly enhance the students' Daily 5 learning experience. Third, students will have easy access to math tools and virtual manipulatives during the Math block. Since students will be able to work independently, I will be able to focus my attention on remediating and enriching students through small group instruction. We have no idea what the future has in store for our emerging readers and writers, but we can definitely prepare them by giving them hands-on access to the technology available right now! We need an iPad with a case for our technology center.
