My students are curious, social, energetic and fast learners. All of these characteristics lend themselves to technological learning. My students want information at school as fast as they can get it at home. At home, some students have tablets, smart phones, and computers, some have none. At school they have books, and paper, and a teacher with one out-dated computer. This is the first generation to be more technologically advanced than the institutions they are learning at. I want to be able to answer, on-the-spot, their higher level thinking questions that require immediate access, connection, and display of the Internet and its information. In order to keep their curiosity alive, I need to be able to provide them with multi-media input and experiences. To feed their need for social interactions, I need to be able to bring social media into my classroom in a format that is visible and accessible to all students. I need devices that work as fast and as dynamically as they think.
