Our school district is an urban area, with the majority of students receiving free or reduced price lunch. This is the second year that the district has had universal preschool for all students within the district that is provided between two early childhood centers. At our early childhood center, there are 18 classroom ranging from Title I classes, blended classes, and low incident/autism rooms. In my class, there are 8 boys and 9 girls, bringing the total to 17 Title I students. The students have a lot of energy and enjoy hands-on experiences throughout center times. The students tend to gravitate towards the dramatic play area, currently acting out various roles in the house area, and the play dough area, allowing for hands on creation. There are a lot of varying needs in the classroom that students bring in from their home lives. This is the first formal educational setting for these young children, and project approach strongly differentiates for inclusion of all students.
