My classroom is a great escape and stress reliever from the academic load students are faced with daily. Each student comes with his own unique personality, set of musical skill strengths & weaknesses, and a diverse background of musical knowledge. They are the most amazing students in the five boroughs. My school is the largest high school in North America. We are a highest poverty school. More than half of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. As a STEM School, the arts often take a back seat to funding, and repairing or purchasing instruments is a challenge. Most students do not own their own instruments so one accident can keep 5 students from having an instrument to play. If we had racks that we could manipulate we could make better use of our workspace. I am requesting these racks because it will greatly affect the life expectancy of our instruments. My students need racks for their instruments.
