My students are incredibly sweet, but at least half of them do not have parents that speak English at home. Therefore, they are not getting to read very often at home. Our school is located in a small town that has mostly military and farming families. Our school does it's best to provide high expectations both academically and socially so that we can develop well-rounded, involved citizens. My students have big dreams of being police officers, doctors, teachers, and members of the military. I want to be able to put them on track to these goals, but first, I must teach them to read.
