I teach 4th and 5th grade students in a public school in South Carolina. My students have been diagnosed with a disability that makes reading and understanding what they read more challenging. They need innovative and various ways to practice their reading skills. I teach about 40 to 45 students per day. They leave their regular classroom and come to me for a 50 minute intensive reading lesson each day. My students are amazing, hard workers. I teach about 60% boys and 40% girls. About 80% of my students receive free/reduced lunch. About 25% of my students come from homes where English is a second language. Our school is in a rural district.
