The alphabet sound teaching tubs will be utilized to build knowledge in and increase fluency of first sounds in words--a foundation of phonemic awareness. The variety of objects in the tubs will also aid in students' development of vocabulary and descriptions using whole sentences. The letter tiles will be used to help students segment words into phonemes and blend phonemes into words--first using blank tiles & then progressing to letter tiles when learning letter-sound relationships. The letter tiles will also be utilized for letter recognition and identification. The Can Do! Phonemic Awareness Game, Phonemic Awareness Folder Game Library, and Beginning/Ending Sound Magnetic Sorting Boards will review beginning, medial, and end sounds in words with students in a fun, interactive way. These resources support early literacy development for Kinder-2nd grade students. Also, the hanging file folders, manila folders, and Post-It tabs will help with record keeping in my intervention groups and will organize the progress monitoring of each student.
