From day one in kindergarten we begin our journey on learning how to read. Then by December my students are expected to read at a beginners level but this can be difficult if the resources are not easily accessible. Providing my students with the love of reading is important to their success and self confidence. I want to provide them with the books necessary to build that love of reading and not one of frustration. My students are diverse in race, ability, experience, and socio-economic status. Some have access to books at home while others do not. As their kindergarten teacher it is my goal to fill my room with books to support each of my students individual reading level.
