I believe that Spanish is the BEST subject to teach because it is so varied and relevant. We can talk about almost anything in the target language and relate it to our standards. My favorite part of teaching is finding new, fun ways to increase input for my students (I joke with them that I can't teach the exact same material, the exact same way every year because I would be bored to tears!) Of the supplies I am asking for, the whiteboards and dry erase markers and most expensive but also the most used. I have a variety of games I will play with these small boards, some will involve individual responses and others require collaboration. The giant post-it notes will be used in reading assignments with my upper levels. At the end of a unit, I will give different main idea questions to different teams and they will brainstorm ideas and ways to answer the questions on the post-it. Then, they will post their ideas around the room and take turns talking about their question and the multiple parts of their answers in a Gallery Walk. The wireless presenter will allow me to walk around my room while clicking through pictures and presentations. This helps tremendously with classroom management as I am not confined to my seat working the computer. Finally, the soft foam learning letters will be used in spelling and phonics practice as a station.
