The Scholastic News in Science will provide current events that my students can read about. It is highly engaging and high interest for students. I used the magazines last year with my students and saw a huge difference in the interest level to read about current events in science. I used the magazines during reading small groups and my students loved the Science magazines. High interest reading topics will really engage most students. It is extremely important to provide the best reading material to students who come from low income families to help motivate them to want to read more.
